Happy Birthday Little Givers Club! Help us celebrate our 3rd Birthday!!

We are so excited that the Little Givers Club has grown! Another year of spreading kindness is something we like to celebrate!!

Join in on the kindness by bringing items to donate to kids in our community.  Come help us fight hunger by donating to the Stark County Hunger Task Force’s backpack program.

Did you know that ONE in FOUR kids go hungry every night in Stark County? That is heartbreaking.

Come and GIVE with us on October 8th at Sky Zone off of Whipple Ave! The cost is $10 and includes 1 hour of jump time, Sky Zone socks and a snack. (A big thank you to Sky Zone for discounting their fees just for our group!) Please arrive between 2:15 and 2:30 to check in and drop off your food donations. Our group will be jumping from 3:00-4:00. Here is a list of items for donations. Microwavable meals, shelf stable milk, granola bars, juice boxes and instant oatmeal.

If you plan to bring your kiddos out, please register HERE.

You can find our event on Facebook by clicking HERE.

Thank you again for all of your support! We love promoting kindness in our community! If you love what we do and want to support our mission of spreading kindness, we would be so appreciative of your donations. Caring for the Courageous

By | Simply Give | No Comments

We had a wonderful time at our Caring for the Courageous event! Last year, we had about 34 women in attendance and made 50 chemotherapy care bags. This year we had 97 women in attendance and made almost 300 chemotherapy care bags. The outpouring of support has been amazing! We are so grateful to each and everyone of you who donated items, money and your time. It doesn’t matter if you donated one item or 25 items, $5 or $50, we could not of done this without each and every one of you.

Two years ago, we asked women who have battled cancer what items they would find helpful, they gave us a list and that is how we chose our items. In each of our chemotherapy care bags, we put the following items: Lemon drops {for dry mouth}, Fiji water, a crossword puzzle, a journal and pen, cozy socks, a mug, Purell , tissues, peppermint tea {for nausea}, $5 Starbucks gift card, chap stick, hand lotion, and a hand written note of encouragement. Each lady who attended Caring for the Courageous went down an assembly line to grab a tote and one of each item listed. We loved having everyone be hands on and get involved.

We had the support of Faith Family Church. They took up an offering at their Flourish women’s gathering in February and collected $3,135 for our cause. In addition, they donated 60 care bags through their connect groups.  They also let us use their banquet room to host our event and I appreciate it so much. Local businesses donated baked goods. Sweet T’s Confections donated cupcakes, Scrumdiddlyumptious donated chocolate chips cookies, and The Cake Lady donated cutouts. Our local Giant Eagle also donated a $25 gift card. Lisa Burwell made a generous donation to cover the cost of all of out food. THANK YOU all SO much!

Simply Give is so happy to be supporting the courageous women battling cancer in our community. This has been on my heart to reach out to women battling cancer. After praying about what I could do to reach out, Jacqui Rini came to me with the idea to make these care bags. You can check out her blog by clicking HERE.  We are both so thrilled to head up such a great cause, but more importantly we are so thrilled to have support of so many. THANK YOU!

After assembling our care bags, we had two women share their testimony and battle with cancer. It was very inspiring and inspirational. Polly shared that she appreciates every day moments so much more. She really relied on God to get through this time. She is beyond grateful to God that she is cancer free to enjoy life with her husband and two daughters.

Brandi, wife and mom to two sweet girls,  shared about her battle with breast cancer. She opted to have a double mastectomy. One of my favorite things she said was, “I am not attached to my hair and breast, they are attached to me.” Profound. Her zeal for life is amazing, her positive attitude and faith in God is truly inspiring. She shared her own personal battle with cancer all while her  sweet mama was welcomed into Heaven, battling cancer herself. It has been a few months since her mother entered Heaven’s gates, and I know she is doing exactly what her mom wanted her to do, sharing the good news of Jesus.

We ended the evening praying over the bags and for any woman who may be battling cancer. There is just something about 100 women in a room, thanking God for his goodness and peace that will overcome these women receiving the bags.

Over the next week, we will spend time delivering to several local cancer centers. I’ll post about it when all of the drop off’s are complete!!

Thank you Sabrina Hall Photography for donating your time and talents to capture our event. You are a blessing!!!

Meet the Hershey’s

By | Simply Give, Uncategorized | No Comments

Who am I? How did I start Simply Give? Why did I start Simply Give?

I wanted to tell you a little bit about us. We are the Hershberger’s but I always call us “The Hershey’s.”

My husband and I will be together 15 years {married 6 1/2 years} in January. It is seriously crazy how fast time flies. I feel like we just started dating in high school and here we are… all this time later, married with 4 kids.

I am a wife. I am a stay at home mom. I LOVE coffee. And donuts. And Jesus. I probably should’ve mentioned that first. HA! I really love being a wife and mom. Although this little army that we created sometimes drives me completely coo coo. Of course I wouldn’t trade it. I am one of eight siblings. Yes, you heard that right…EIGHT! I love my big family. I love to bargain shop. I love Target. I love going on dates with my husband. I also love when my kids sleep all night…..which rarely happens….which is why I am crazy. {wink}

I started Simply Give because I have a passion for people. I have always loved helping people. One day I was sitting at home, in my sweats, makeup-less, chugging some coffee while I was surrounded by my cute baby and toddler, thinking to myself…..”What can I do to help people while staying at home with my kids?” and that is when the idea of Simply Give came upon me. I thought I’d start a blog to inspire others to give. But me, a mom….a mom that only knows how to use Facebook. How was I going to start a blog? I decided just to jump right in, and started one on a blogspot. Thank the Lord I have gotten a tad better and thanks to Harrison Whittaker for designing this blog for me! I was trying to come up with a catchy name. I wanted something simple and about giving. I put two and two together and decided to call it SIMPLY GIVE.

I thought I would start blogging about random acts of kindness, and then I realized that EVERYTHING we do in life comes down to giving. We give to God, our spouse, our kids, our family and friends….even random strangers. Simply Give in a nut shell is just about giving generously in every area of your life. To everyone in your life. On this blog, and my social media pages, if you are looking for perfection, you won’t find it. If you are looking for inspiration, hopefully you will. At the end of the day, I am a busy wife and mom of four that is on a mission to inspire others to give. My pictures are not always picture perfect, my post might have a typo…mainly because I may have a kid on my hip and be in the middle of getting the kids lunch. My vlogs are literally in my basement, the only place I can “hide out”.

My hubby, Shawn, is a sweetheart. He is one of the most selfless men I know. He doesn’t just tell me he loves me, he shows me on a daily basis. Im not saying that for show….you can ask anyone who knows him. He is a gem. My oldest son Hunter {age 6} has kept me on my toes since he was born. He is full of energy. He likes to say things that embarrass me. He is a stinker but has the cutest dimples in the world that melt my heart. Carter {age 4} has the sweetest spirit about him. He likes to obey the rules, but sometimes likes to  be sneaky about things. He is always asking me questions about God and is a spiritual little boy. He has a heart of gold. Capri {age 2} is as spunky as they come. She is the perfect balance between being girly and a tomboy. She will not keep bows in her hair, which bums me out because I am a girly girl. She is so sweet and little Miss Personality. Last but not least, is my little Cruz {11 months} . He is so laid back and is obsessed with his Dad, Papa and Mickey Mouse. He is the worst sleeper…EVER! But such a little lover boy!

Now…You can say you have officially met the Hershey’s.

Here is a small glimpse of us….. Thankful for a very patient photographer!

Thank you for your love and support on this crazy journey of motherhood and Simply Give!
